UK government: No more oil and gas

Greenpeace is taking the UK government to court for unlawfully approving new North Sea oil and gas.

New North Sea oil and gas will do nothing to bring people’s energy bills down - the only thing it will do is trash the climate. 2022 was the UK’s hottest year on record, and across the world we’ve seen unprecedented extreme weather events like flooding, heatwaves and wildfires.

Instead of more oil and gas, the government should focus on the real solutions to the energy crisis: insulating our homes and rolling out cheap, clean renewables. This would have the added benefit of helping tackle the climate crisis.
